The short version

How I
work

  1. Discover

First, I get familiar with the problem, the people and the bigger picture.

    Step 01
  2. Define

I turn what I have learnt into a clear direction, a structure and a short list of priorities.

    Step 02
  3. Design

Then I make the thing: rough sketches first, then screens, then something you can click.

    Step 03
  4. Deliver

Finally I hand over with care and stay close while it is built, so it ships as intended.

    Step 04

What happens at each step

  1. Step 01

    Discover

Interviews, support tickets, analytics and a walk through the current product. I write down what I learn in plain sentences.

You get a short summary of the problem, the people affected and what we do not yet know.

  2. Step 02

    Define

I turn the findings into a direction: what the product should do first, what it should leave for later, and how we will know it worked.

You get a one page plan and a rough map of the whole journey.

  3. Step 03

    Design

Quick sketches, then screens, then a clickable prototype. We test with real people early, while changes are still cheap.

You get a prototype, notes from each test and a prioritised list of changes.

  4. Step 04

    Deliver

A tidy handover with specifications, a component library and notes that engineers actually read. I stay close during the build.

You get a product that ships the way it was meant to, and a team that understands why.

Let's talk

I do my best work on knotty problems, with people who are generous with what they know. If that sounds like your project, I would love to hear about it.
